Darlos Revenge bow out of English Cup at the 2nd round stage

Well it could have been a lot worse, the team Darlos Revenge were playing were a series higher, and the numbers showed they were pretty much played off the park in most areas. So a 5-0 defeat could so easily have been 9 or 10 nil. When knocked out of the main cup competition you drop down to another cup, which for 2nd round losers is called the George Carey cup.

So regroup for the league and plan for another cup game next week.

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 14826 that came out to DarlosRevenge Arena. Charles Garst was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Skifter Kamberi and Joselito Pinotti.

The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players.

The wings were the focus of most of Revenge's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic.

With the scoreboard showing that 36 minutes had been played, Wildcats nearly put themselves up another goal after Giles Garvey came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.

With 38 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Giles Garvey of Wildcats to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.

Hattrick league match report 1st game of the new season.

Record crowd but poor result, if you have been following my account you will know that I have linked up my Hattrick football team with my lego build. This Sunday was the first league match of the new season. As the team is still in the cup competition I was trying a new formation and a slightly weaker team, thinking I would still be strong enough for the team I was playing. Unfortunately though, the team got beat, which already means a season of catch up. A tad annoying but a formation change and a new signing should stabilise things.

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and DarlosRevenge Arena saw a crowd turnout of 15916. Ernesto Corazza was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Teslim Eceten and Hervé Chrétien.

Starters: Mayer - Parker, Verlegh, Bělohlav, Shaylor, Diezma Dillanes - Burton, Şoima, Abalos - Fiorentino, Young.

Down the middle came Odd Helgesen, making a fantastic play that nearly had fiesta take the lead after 2 minutes, but Dominik Mayer preserved the tie.

Revenge's Remmelt Verlegh swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.

Odd Helgesen came close to levelling the score 6 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post.

With 72 minutes played, Matías Mir nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.

With 75 minutes played, Rob Burton of Revenge fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.

After 77 minutes, following yet another great corner, Matías Mir's flick on at the near post reached Simone Augusti, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick.

The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over.

After 89 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Anton Shandy a chance to increase the lead for fiesta, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3.

Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by fiesta, with 53 percent of the ball.
James Young performed admirably for Revenge.
On the other hand, Remmelt Verlegh's play was disheartening.
Most important fiesta player was Wicher Goedee.
Niceto Velastegui was a disappointment, however.
