Our lass wants a static caravan in Whitley Bay

I have never been one to shy away from self promotion, and it came to me last night, when searching through ebay for joblots and finding the obligatory 2 bricks being sold as a joblot, then someone showed me a Lego brick for sale for £2,000. I went one better and found a £5 Lego kit available for £6,500. It got me to thinking, what would stop me putting My Lego Stadium up for sale? Nothing at all it seems, I had actually wanted to market it for £30,000 but my limit is £10,000.

Also this brings into play, what do I actually do with the football stadium when it is anywhere near finished? What is the point of it all?

The point of it all? Simply answered, it has helped my mental health, when I started this over a year ago, it was something fresh to focus on. I thought it would all fit on to an office table, and would be something for the grand kids to play with. It has grown a lot since then but so has the problems of the world, and having a focus has really helped.

What happens when it is nearly finished? What will be finished? The second of those questions is the most relevant question. I can imagine it just simply growing and growing, I will be happy when I have a stadia around the pitch, but then there will be the next tier, surrounding areas, I can imagine it will just grow and grow, well grow to the limitations of the space I have.

So what happens at the end? I know the bricks are always going to be worth something, I have easily cleared a grand, I would say building it, one day I might sit down and tot up the spend. I don't think I would really want to break it up and sell the bricks back to the world of Lego fans, I think I would go for the big sell.

This is why we are where we are now, if someone offered me the right amount of money, they could have it, and as described in the sale, I will hand deliver it, especially for this amount of money, and what would it be spent on? As the heading says a static caravan, probably Whitley Bay, but I think our lass deserves a treat for putting up with me.

Happy Bidding!

I would build 500 seats and I have built 500 more.

So I finally got around to setting MyLegoStadium up in the garage. It had been in different locations in the bedrooms upstairs, and my main worry was that each time I set it up and put it away again, something would get damaged, or heaven forbid get dropped. So now apart from the spiders and the dust, and a dust sheet will solve the latter, it is in it's current not to be moved home.

As you can see from the photo there is a lot more to do, I had since being in lockdown been able to work a bit more on the end stand. By building the end stand and making a basic start on the corner stand this has brought the capacity above 1,000 to be precise 1,046.

I can't look a gift horse in the mouth, as our lass bought me the table, which I managed to convince her I needed two, and it's a good job I did as it wouldn't have been wide enough, but I had measured and it had needed to be 8ft long, and as with most tables they were 6ft, so currently the stand if on display is poking over the edge. My next job is to  convince our lass about getting two more tables. It will effectively take over the garage, so I best choose my moment.

I have also, thanks to finding three base plates I had forgot about made a exploratory starts on the dug out side of the stadium. I have started working back to front, originally I was going to do all arches the same as Lime street station, but started playing around with the bricks above. Things to consider is the strength to carry smaller base plates for the next level which is balanced on the back structure, I also have to figure out a way to put the dug out in at the front, as they will have different larger seating compared to the normal 2x2 seats which seem scarce at the moment as it is. I have looked at 3x3 technic chairs which give that dug out feel.

So this is what is happening so far, would love your thoughts.

I am one seat short of a full stand

This week I finally got around to making the clock tower stand whole. I had worked back to front, unlike all the other stands in which I have normally started from the front of the stand with the lower bricks then found a way to build them up.

I already knew what to expect as I could work side by side with a stand I had already nearly completed. I knew where the base plates needed to go, and also was prepared for having to put in small base plate bricks 1x4 and 1x6 other wise the stand would be out by the depth of the base plates used. The slither base plates I put normally just above the trans clear bricks in the back.

If it wasn't for the base plates though, it would mean purchasing a heck of a lot more 4x2 bricks to help fill the stand so I could make the step process work as you work up the stand, I have estimated it would be at least 1,000 bricks and as the current price is 7p a brick that saves around £70 plus a lot of sore finger ends pushing them altogether as well, it also when I get around to it, leaves an area at the back of the stand to fill with infrastructure for the ground. Still lots of ideas rattling around in my head but will enjoy setting the stage.

As the title suggested though, when applying the red seats, I was one seat short of a full stand. (It has been said in many other forms before of me) So that is another thing which has been on the shopping list but waiting for the price to fall, considering I am looking for at least a 1,000 or more of them, every 1p saving is a tenner towards something else. I am also on the look out for the railing bars, same again, only looking for a few hundred of them, but every penny counts when you are multiplying by the hundreds.

I had hoped to set it out on the dining table just to aid the count up of the capacity so far, it should be over the 1k mark. But something is telling me not to, funny old thing intuition, I have already had one accident with a camper van model, so for the moment I am holding fire but will do it on a Thursday in the future. (All things for a reason).

Currently I am starting a new corner stand as other wise any photos would have had an end stand detatched from the rest of the stadium so in a week or so that might be on it's way to being completed so would make a better photo than what I have at the moment.

I am gathering the bricks for my new stand, (CLICK HERE TO SEE THE START OF THE IDEA) I have no space for it, and don't have the base plates as of yet, but I am full of ideas, and much like this tower stand it will more than likely be built from the back to the front.

So not only am I one seat short of a full stand I do everything back to front now, I about sums me up, thanks for reading, feel free to comment.
