My latest bit of tinkering

Here you can see from the two twitter posts what I have been tinkering with.

On Christmas day I put together all the treats I had got from my Lego Advent Calendar which were very useful for the chairman's new suite. There was a fireplace, grandfather clock, table, rocking chair,tables and oven.

I had also recently acquired a cafe which came with a mini figure chef and older lady, perfect for the cooking area and chairman's wife.

Then today I have been wanting as always to get on but not having the bricks, I have been getting quite a few Lego bases, so I used the multi coloured bricks which will be for the internal of the stadium, I also had a play around with base plates to give a lot of room behind the stand to create open areas for the fans to enjoy before the match, although I didn't have enough bricks to complete it all. I did have enough to give an idea of what it will look like.

I now have to go shopping and get not just the 3001 bricks for the main structure but quite a few more tan 8x16 base plates and 1x6 clear windows. I am planning to put gates on the sides. Mainly due to ease.

Anyway it has been fun playing, would enjoy to read your thoughts.

Tinkering and lighting

As you can see from my tweets below it's been a light day, expecting at least 8 packages and just the one has arrives. It was my shortfall from an order of transparent bricks. At least it allowed me to get all the letters in the same colour pattern. Once this was done, I had a little play around with lighting. I think it has turned out ok, not perfect but pretty good even if I do write it myself.

Can your Lego ideas be too big?

Well, although My Lego Stadium is barely started as you can see from the tweet below and the photos shared upon them, I am going to need a bigger table on which to put anything like the full stadium. The structure (at present) is expected to be 3 x 4 (48x48 base plates) I can fit the four along but not the three wide. My ideas also keep expanding, thoughts of facilities around the ground. Such as car park, bus station and train station. The ground itself will probably over spill the edge of the bases especially for the higher tiers, and you also have the concourse around the ground.

So, can you have too big an idea? Not really, only limited space to develop them. As I haven't even finished one side of the stadium as of yet I am not going to focus on this for the moment. My mind does keep flitting backwards and forwards. Partly wanting to get on with more and more stands, then going back to doing the details in the rooms.

It is good fun, and quite a distraction from life around you, it has certainly made watching football more fun, as instead of getting annoyed with footballers falling over, I am looking at the seating arrangements in the back ground to get ideas.

Each time I increase the capacity, I like to measure it against the average attendances of non league football teams in the UK. I love my numbers and thought it would be a fascinating thing to do.

Now up to 150th on the list.
